From humble beginnings we have evolved into a market leader in security doors for social housing. Here is a short overview of how we progressed to our enviable position today.

1995 Martec was formed by Martin McHugh, a steel fabricator to trade and an entrepreneur. He saw a need in the Glasgow market for high quality steel products.

1996 Develops long standing working relationships with Main Contractors

1998 Launched the Premier Plus Security Door

2000 Our customer base has grown from in and around Glasgow to all over Scotland, North of England, and London

2001 Our Patented Anti-Nip hinge is developed for all of our security doors

2004 Our patent pending security glazing system is invented.

2008 We develop The Premier Door now, the market leader. Setting a benchmark in the industry for high performance and low cost.

2010 Achieved, The new standard of Secured by Design STS202 level 2.

2010 Fire Rated doors and screens launched. Providing protection from E30 to Ei240.

2011 Achieved BSi ISO 9001;14001;18001.

2011 £600K contract for staircases, balustrade and stainless steel within Union Square Shopping Centre, Aberdeen.

2012 Move to 35,000 sq feet manufacturing facility.

2013 £4.7m turnover, employing 65 full time staff.

2014 All products CE marked.
2016 2HR Fire Rated Bin Hopper Certified and Launched.
2017 Start Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Edinburgh University to develop next generation security doors

2020 Premier Vision door launched.

2021 Extend Martec Factory to 50,000 square feet

Miller Construction

Martec were asked to assist with the refurbishment of Firhill School.

Martec provided outdoor canopys, internal and external balustrading and bespoke stainless steel products.

Martec were also responsible for the installation of the listed products. All products were installed inline with recognised health and safety standards.
